School Rules and Discipline Guidelines
At Velan Vikhass Matric Higher Secondary School, discipline is the foundation for character building and academic excellence. We believe that instilling good habits, punctuality, and responsibility helps children grow into respectful and capable individuals. The following rules are designed to maintain order, ensure safety, and foster a positive learning environment:
- Students must wear clean and complete school uniform every day.
- Discipline, honesty, and good manners are expected at all times—inside and outside the classroom.
- Students should behave respectfully toward teachers, staff, peers, and school property.
- Children must arrive on time. Latecomers will not be allowed into the school premises.
- Regular attendance is essential. Absences must be informed in advance with a leave note.
- Students returning after illness must bring a medical certificate if absent for more than three days.
- All books, notebooks, and learning materials should be maintained neatly and systematically.
- Parents must regularly check and sign the student diary to stay updated on academic progress and homework.
- Homework and class assignments should be completed and submitted on time.
- Parents are allowed to meet only the principal during school hours for any queries or discussions.
- Regular parent visits on Saturdays are encouraged to track their child's academic progress.
- School fees must be paid on time as per the term schedule to avoid disruptions.
- Students are not allowed to wear gold or expensive ornaments to school.
- Bringing toys, gadgets, or items belonging to other students is strictly discouraged.
- Damaging school property will lead to disciplinary action and recovery charges from the parent.
- Students must take care of their belongings. The school is not responsible for any lost items.
- Misplaced items or materials taken by mistake must be returned immediately to the concerned teacher.
These rules are framed to help students develop a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. We seek the cooperation of parents in reinforcing these values at home as well.
